Over the weekend I happened to visit a local animal shelter and it got me to thinking, here are these animals that are locked up and on the outside there are people that like to run and need to be safe. What if we could find a way to pair the two up? I’m thinking that we could partner with certain rescue groups and animal shelters to get their dogs exercised and socialized and at the same time, take our running freedom back.
The basics would be that the dogs would need to have passed their K-9 Good Citizen test and the runners would need to be taught how to correctly run with a dog. From there it could be that a runner makes a reservation and meets the dog at their running location.
Maybe this already exists, but just in case it doesn’t, let me know what your ideas are.
