What is CallMyMom.com?
CallMyMom.com is a system that encourages safe teen driving by adding a modern twist to the idea that it takes a community to raise a child. We believe it takes a community to keep young drivers safe. Very simply it is a tool that lets other drivers know that there is a student driver behind the wheel and at the same time lets the young driver know that there are immediate consequences for their actions.
While we hope that our alerting system proves beneficial to families, it is important to remember that accidents happen and there is no alerting system that can prevent accidents.
Why would I want to use CallMyMom.com’s service?
Every year in communities across the world, there are memorials for the kids that took their parent’s car while they were sleeping, drove home drunk from a party, went out joy riding with friends instead of going to school, racing, and other situations that end tragically. We would like to believe that our young drivers are learning their lessons, but that just isn’t the case.
I’ve seen other companies doing this, what sets your service apart from them?
At CallMyMom.com, the reporting party will call the number and be immediately connected to the parent/grandparent/account owner. Other services require a report to be taken and then submitted via email or snail mail. Our system has the ability to notify while the action is still happening, rather than hours/days after the fact.
I trust my child – I don’t need to use a safety system.
The beauty of this system is that it not only encourages safe teen driving, but also lets other drivers know that there is a young driver behind the wheel.
Will insurance or police be notified of any incoming calls?
No. Any report calls go directly to the number designated by the subscriber. This means that the call is not reported to police and won’t affect insurance rates.
How it works:
- Sign up for a CMM account and we will send you a bumper sticker with a mailbox number that belongs only to your account.
- Put the sticker on the car your teen will be driving.
- Other drivers will see the bumper sticker and be able to call the toll-free number and enter the mailbox number to leave a message.
- The message will be forwarded to the phone number or email address you have identified. You can opt to have the report ring directly to your number with call forwarding.
Ways the CMM reporting can contact you:
- Email – the voice report the caller leaves is sent directly to your email as an audio file. You can listen to it right from your email.
- Phone – You can select the option to take the call from the reporter yourself by having your mailbox forwarded to your own work/cell/home number.
